Dry Mixed Recycling

Commercial Waste Collection. Fortress Recycling is leading the way in recycling with the very latest, cutting-edge technology.

Recycling with Fortress could not be easier. A dedicated recycling container, clearly marked and colour-coded with a green lid is provided for use. This will be sufficient in volume to cope with all the customers’ dry mixed recycling, including paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and cans.

The container will then collected on the agreed scheduled day(s) and transported to an automated recycling centre for processing. Here the materials collected are separated through a series of high tech processes involving belts/magnets , eddy current separators and material recognition cameras linked to air blowers before being baled into separate streams of recycled material.

Not only does recycling help protect the earth’s natural resources but material diverted from landfill avoids landfill tax and therefore saves you money.

Segregated Paper/Card

Commercial Waste Collection. Recycling with Fortress could not be easier. A dedicated recycling container, sufficient in volume to cope with all your paper and cardboard can be provided. The cardboard and paper for recycling can then be placed in a dedicated receptacle which is clearly marked and colour coded with a white lid. The container is collected on your scheduled day(s) and transported to a fully automated recycling centre.

To encourage and assist recycling within the office Fortress can provide special plastic office paper recycling containers. These containers fit naturally into the office environment adjacent to the usual office waste bin. Recycled paper can then be easily moved out of the office at the same time as the usual material from the office waste bins.

The containers are lockable and made of durable plastic. They are easily moved on castor wheels which are lockable for safety purposes. Collections are ticketless but recorded electronically by the collection vehicle via a microchip embedded into the container. The Containers can be supplied in a variety of sizes to suit all types of waste volumes. Not only does recycling paper/card help protect the natural world, but paper/card diverted from landfill avoids landfill tax and therefore saves you money.

Segregated Glass

Commercial Waste Collection. Recycling with Fortress could not be easier. A dedicated recycling container sufficient in volume to cope with all your glass is provided for use. The container is collected on your scheduled day(s) and transported to a fully automated recycling centre.

Glass is an ideal product for recycling. It can be melted and reformed infinitely without any loss of quality. We accept all types of glass container of all colours.

Segregated Metal

Commercial Waste Collection. Recycling with Fortress could not be easier. A dedicated recycling container sufficient in volume to cope with all your metal is provided for use. The container is collected on your scheduled day(s) and transported to a fully automated recycling centre.

Metal is an ideal product for recycling. Virtually all metals can be recycled into high quality new metal. We accept all types of metal in one container, including steel, iron, copper, lead, brass, zinc and aluminium.

Not only does recycling metal help protect the natural world, but metal diverted from landfill avoids landfill tax and therefore saves you money.

Segregated Plastic

Commercial Waste Collection. Due to volumes required to make recycling viable for plastics, only baled plastics can be considered for recycling at this time. Mill sized bails (approximately 450kg) are preferential for the best rebate rates, however, smaller bails can be considered providing the quantity is acceptable.

Typically a plastic is not recycled into the same type of plastic, and products made from recycled plastics are often not recyclable. However, PET (plastic used for bottled soft drinks) and HDPE (plastic used for milk bottles) are now widely recycled. In addition, new technology is being developed which will bring down costs to enable the recycled plastic industry to compete with cheap new plastic. Not only does recycling plastic help protect the natural world, but plastic diverted from landfill avoids landfill tax and therefore saves you money.

Segregated Wood

Commercial Waste Collection. All wood can be recycled. Costs range dependant on area and weight as currently all wood recycling carries a tonnage disposal. This is however significantly less than landfill rates and obviously a much greener option.

Our segregated wood collection is ideally suitable for industrial producers and manufacturers. Pallets and other packaging can be reconditioned for reuse, or deconstructed. In many cases, wood is shredded for use in engineered wood products, mulch or animal bedding. Not only does recycling wood help protect the natural world, but wood diverted from landfill avoids landfill tax and therefore saves you money.
