Fortress Team Completes Two Castles Run!

REFUSE to Run FasterTen members of the Fortress office team took part in the Two Castles Run on Sunday 12th June. The famous 10 kilometre run from Warwick Castle to Kenilworth Castle is organised by Kenilworth Rotary Club and raises thousands of pounds for charity each year.

Fortress Director Robert Pass said “We’ve been providing free waste disposal and recycling at the event for many years and this year we thought it would be fun to take it a step further and enter a team!”

The name of the Fortress team was ‘REFUSE to Run Faster’ and the charity of choice was Cancer Research UK.

The fastest member of the team was Henry Leaver, Accounts Administrator, who ran the 6.2 mile route in a very respectable time of 43 minutes and 48 seconds. He was closely followed by Steve Ramus, Sales Director, who achieved a time of 44 minutes 29 seconds.

Henry Leaver said; “It was a great challenge, I really enjoyed the day. Particularly as I beat the Sales Director into second place! I’m looking forward to taking part next year; it’s a fantastic event and raises loads of money for local causes.”
