WASTE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT (WEEE) DIRECTIVE
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations came into force on the 2 nd January 2007. Its aim is to recover and recycle target amounts of this material under the European Directive.
All businesses looking to dispose of WEEE must register with the Environmental Agency to obtain a premises code (see useful links).
As with other directives, if you are unsure if your waste material is classed as WEEE please do not hesitate to contact a Fortress for assistance, as a general rule of thumb, if it has a plug attached, it is WEEE.
